BRISLINGTON CRICKET CLUB
Child Protection Policy Statement
Brislington Cricket Club is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for children and young people to practice and play cricket.
The Club does this by:
 Recognising that all children have a right to freedom from abuse.
 Ensuring that all our Officials, Coaches and Volunteers are carefully selected and accept responsibility for helping to prevent abuse of children in their care.
 Ensuring that all qualified and unqualified Coaches, Team Managers and Assistant Managers are screened by the Criminal Records Bureau.
 Responding swiftly and appropriately to all suspicions or allegations of abuse and providing parents and children with the opportunity to voice any concerns they may have.
 Appointing a Child Welfare Officer who will take specific responsibility for child safety and act as the main point of contact for parents, children and outside agencies.
 Ensuring access to confidential information is restricted to the Safeguarding Officer and the appropriate agencies.
 Reviewing the effectiveness of our Child Protection Policy and activities each year at an Executive Committee Meeting of the Club.
 Assuring that we follow “The Safe Hands” policies set out by the ECB (Governing Body). Information is available on the internet and via leaflets within the club.
