Following a fantastic week of cricket at Ironmould Lane a message from the Club President Mike Stephens.

Brislington Cricket Club - 150th Anniversary.

As president of Brislington Cricket Club I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their help and support during the week of celebrations to mark our 150th Anniversary. It was great to see so many members involved helping to make it a brilliant week which I am sure everyone fully enjoyed.

Despite the disappointment of not being able to stage the Presidents v Chairman's match on the Sunday we were blessed with great weather for the remainder of the week and everyone was able to watch some entertaining cricket in glorious sunshine.

I have to say the ground looked in pristine condition which prompted favourable comments from many of our visitors who could not have failed to be impressed by the facilities we now have at Ironmould Lane. While a few members all helped with the preparation of the ground I think special mention should go the Richard Gunningham for his tremendous efforts in making sure the ground always looks in perfect condition.

Special thanks should also go to Ginny, Chris and their team for providing first class catering during the week with everyone being greatly impressed with the quality and range of the food which was available to players and spectators alike.

While many other members were involved in making this occasion possible I think Simon Hayes and Clive Peters should be singled out for their part in ensuring the week ran smoothly and for organising the evening events.
However, the final accolade must go to Kevin Moore who worked extremely hard to ensure we had the three attractive mid week fixtures as well as picking three balanced Brislington teams to include everyone who wanted to play. Kevin has also taken on the responsibility of organising our anniversary dinner which is being held at the Gloucester County Ground on the 20th October. Tickets for this event are selling fast so please contact Kevin as soon as possible if you wish to attend.

Finally, I would just like to thank all members once again for making last week a very special and memorable occasion in the history of Brislington Cricket Club. With the commitment and support shown by so many to ensure the week was a great success the future for the club seems as bright as at any time in it's 150 year history.

Best wishes

Mike Stephens
