Ethan 'Keith' Maule reports - Some great batting and tight bowling led Briz U15's into the next round of the cup

Briz won the toss and elected to bat. The opening partneship of Will Thomas and Ben 'the Fish' got Briz of to a great start. Only to be broken when Thomas departed for 12 leaving the score on 56 for 1 with 6 overs gone. Next to the crease was Jacob Reeves who looked to build on the great platform already built. A few overs later Ben 'the Fish' had retired on 50 not out off of 27 balls. Up stepped Milo Ayres who with in no time at all was back in the changing rooms. A superb 50 retired off of 18 balls, including some big sixes already produced from Ben 'the Fish'. With Reeves now on 46 not out he soon joined the fifty club, this one off of 34 balls. There was now a new pair at the crease, Sujan Canagarajah and Josh Whitemore. They added a further 36, until Sujan was bowled for 24. Leaving the score on 220! Kasey Aldridge entered and both him and Whitemore ended the innings well to leave the final score on 226. Whitemore on 14 not out and Aldridge on 5 not out.

With only half the job done the Briz bowlers had to defend a great total of 226. Whitemore and Aldridge opened the bowling with some tight bowling. Aldridge removed Karel for 1 leaving the score on 16 for 1 off of 5 overs. Next into the attack was Ethan Maule who picked up 3 wickets with the help of tight bowling at the other end from Reeves and Sujan going at less than 4 an over. Now it was time for Seth Kingston and Harrison Peacock to enter the stage. They both bowled very well and got 2 deserved wickets each. 2 run outs at the end from Aldridge and Whitemore topped of a great performance.
